GenCare Kids is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (P-PEC) that meets the needs of children with medical conditions from birth through age 20. In other words, they are a medical daycare/preschool for kids!
GenCare Kids, overseen by medical director John Sanandria, MD of Nemours Children’s Hospital, focuses on providing services and programs that meet the medical, physical, developmental, social, and emotional needs of children who require short or long-term services. They endeavor to help children with various medical conditions grow and develop through therapeutic and stimulating services and programs.
Their dedicated team of caring medical professionals works in collaboration with therapeutic services to help every child reach their full potential, uses play as therapy, and closely monitors their medical condition.
GenCare Kids partners with families of children to meet their unique needs that are unable to be met by traditional schools and daycares. Parents and caregivers can go about their daily activities with peace of mind, knowing that their child is being cared for by professionals in a loving, safe, and fun environment.
Licensed and regulated by the state of Florida, GenCare Kids has a team of highly qualified pediatric medical personnel. Their staff of Pediatric Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Nursing Assistants collaborate daily with therapists (including, but not limited to occupational, physical, speech and ABA therapists).
Services are provided up to 12 hours daily and may include free transportation as requested.
Children with various medical conditions including, but not limited to, respiratory issues, cerebral palsy, feeding disorders, traumatic injuries, and children recovering from surgery, may qualify for GenCare’s services free of charge through Medicaid.
